Charmaine Parer, SMSF Specialist, B.Bus (Acc), Dip. Financial Services


Charmaine started her career with Coopers & Lybrand in 1997 and from there moved to PriceWaterhouseCoopers. She joined Huon Partners in 2000 and has specialised in Superannuation for the past 20+ years. With extensive experience in the setup and management of Self Managed Superannuation Funds, Charmaine enjoys working with her clients to achieve their personal goals. 



Jonathan Bienvenue, SMSF / Client Administration


Jonathan joined the BDS Huon team in March 2022 following a tree change from Melbourne. Jonathan completed Certificate 3 in Business Administration in 2022 and is currently studying Certificate 4 in Bookkeeping & Accounting. Most recently, Jonathan has been specialising in SMSF processing and administration as well providing backup support to the Accountants and Directors when dealing with general administration and company secretarial processes. 

 


Accounting Services


Jon Williams, FCA


Jon is a founding Director of BDS Huon. Prior to this, Jon was a Director of BDS Group. He has been a public practice accountant for over 22 years and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.


Jon joined the firm in its previous state in 1994 and became a Partner in 2001. His principal areas of practice are tax minimisation and asset protection by structuring. He assists his clients to shift their traditional focus from compliance-based accounting to strategic business management and improvement. 


Jon resigned as Partner on 30 June 2024 as a result of ill health, but remains working in a consulting role on a casual basis.


Ross Griffin, Manager, B.Bus (Acc)


Ross is a founding Director of BDS Huon and Chartered Accountant. Ross joined Larry in Partnership in 1997 and was an employee of the firm for 10 years prior to becoming a Partner. During the last 30 years, Ross showed a keen interest in developing new client services, providing advice on how clients can achieve business growth and helping clients with financial pressures and difficulties to reengineer their businesses for success.


Ross resigned as Partner on 30 June 2023 but remains working with BDS Huon as a Manager on a part-time basis.


 

Kevin Collihole, Accountant, B.Bus (Acc)


Kevin joined BDS Huon in August 2020 and brings with him 17 years of experience and knowledge working in public practice. Kevin has specialised in working with a diverse range of client portfolios, covering individuals through to companies and superannuation funds.

Bookkeeping Services


Leah Osmand, Bookkeeper


Leah joined BDS Huon in February 2021 bringing experience in bookkeeping, customer service and support. Having completed Certificate 4 in Bookkeeping & Accounting in 2016, Leah worked as a Bookkeeper for a small business in Wodonga before joining the BDS Huon team. Leah provides bookkeeping assistance and support to clients, specialising in MYOB and QBO.


Jessica McFarlane, Bookkeeper & Office Accounts


Jessica joined the BDS Huon team in August 2018 and brings with her over 10 years' experience in office administration. Jessica is involved in a range of administration activities for BDS Huon including but not limited to accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as data entry. After completing Certificate 4 in Bookkeeping & Accounting in 2021, Jessica has stepped into a bookkeeping role and enjoys providing bookkeeping assistance and support to clients, specialising in Xero and QBO.



Support Specialists 


Lauren Barlow, Senior Client Services Administrator/ PA to Directors


Lauren joined the team at BDS Huon in 2017 and brings with her a wealth of experience in customer services roles in professional environments. Having commenced as Receptionist in 2017, Lauren performed that role until going on maternity leave for most of 2019. Lauren returned to work at the start of 2020 taking up an administrative and tax compliance role. Lauren's role has continued to evolve since 2020 and she now coordinates BDS Huon's tax return lodgement program as well as providing general administrative support to the Directors and Accountants. 

 

Maxine Gibbons, Company Secretary & Client Services Administrator


After leaving BDS Huon in 2017 to pursue other career options, Maxine found her way back to BDS Huon in April 2024. Maxine has extensive experience in the industry, having worked in various accounting firms since she was 16! As well as providing relief reception and general administrative support to clients, the Directors and Accountants, Maxine is our dedicated Company Secretary responsible for attending to compliance matters and maintaining files for almost 800 Companies and Trusts.


Maddy Wantling, Receptionist


Maddy joined BDS Huon in October 2024 after several years working in the retail industry. Maddy has extensive customer service experience and brings a warm and professional manner to our reception area as well as over the phone.
